The KL-1 interface has a 16 pin plug (OBD2 style) that will plug directly into Triumph models. For other makes you will usually require an adaptor – please see under Motorbike Adaptors or check out TuneECU Kits which come combined. where you can buy some adaptors bundled with this interface.
What is TuneECU? TuneECU is a diagnostic and map writing software for various motorbikes. The PC version (support no longer provided) is free and the latest Android version costs 25 Euros currently. Please purchase software directly from TuneECU.

Buy with the required cable bundle. A standard USB-A cable is the common type you see on PC desktops and laptops. The USB-Micro is typically used on older or more basic smartphones. The USB-C type is used on most new smartphones/tablets and also some new notebooks/laptops. If you’re not familiar with which one you need, just drop us a line at the contact page advising what phone/tablet you have and we can advise.

Tried a cable off E-Bay which enabled a connection of sorts. Most actions were ‘greyed out’ thus it wasn’t any use. In fairness the seller didn’t claim compatability with a Tiger Sport 2013 so it was my gamble.
Lonelec was an immediate connection and I had cleared an error code within 30 seconds of turning the ignition on. Brilliant.
Should have bought the Lonelec at outset, the E-Bay route was a false economy on this occasion.

I had bought 5-6 “eBay” cables and they ranged from “didn’t work at all” to “worked on some bikes for a while” to “might work on one bike but not the next one” to “if sometimes it worked, it would drop comm at high rpm”.
I tried shielding and tried adding a ground wire and sacred incantations.
Comm problems turned 2-4 hour tuning jobs into multiday ordeals.
