Mercedes Benz 38 pin Adaptor Lead for OBD2
Converts your standard OBD2 16 pin lead to the 38 pin plug for older Mercedes Benz models (normally before 2001, check your vehicle to ensure)
The 38 pin diagnostic socket is normally found under the bonnet – see picture. Note: This is only an adaptor and must be used in conjunction with hardware compatible with the vehicle.

Worked fine for me. Adapted a Cougar (Nutool) 16 pin fault reader, to a 38 pin Mercedes E-class TD 1998 diagnostics plug.
You have to make sure the two ears are lined up with the holes, then push it in firmly
